I've just finished reading Till We Have Faces, the last novel Lewis ever wrote. As I expected, I loved it. I twittered this quote earlier, but I found it powerful....
"Today I will meet cruel men, cowards and liars, the envious and the drunken. They will be like that because they do not know what is good from what is bad. This is an evil which has fallen upon them, and not me."
There was also a moment in the story when Psyche, the beautiful youngest daughter was about to be sent up the mountain to be sacrificed to the gods.... She told her sister that at times, she had longed for death...
"It was when I was happiest that I longed most...The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing...to find the place where all the beauty came from."
I am yet to find a writing of C.S. Lewis that I didn't find intriguing.... and while I've read nearly everything he's written (and often wish there was more), I continue to find new things about his stories and musings when I re-read books I've read many times.

You have good taste in authors and in books. Till We Have Faces was an amazing retelling and The Great Divorce is one of my favorite books of all time.

c.s. lewis is a pretty cool author...but i still like j.k rowling better!
C.S. Lewis is a very intelligent man...I tried reading "The Screwtape Letters" and got no more than maybe halfway through! I couldn't grasp most of it-although there were some very profound statements in there. He is a very talented author, though! I am just going to have to wait a few years to try again...haha
