I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

It's snowing this morning in Tennessee. When I say snowing, I mean that if I look closely, I can see tiny white flecks against the dark background of my neighbour's roof. This isn't the snow I grew up with.... and I know they won't last on the ground. How disappointing.

Since moving to Tennessee, I've had nothing but green Christmases. Tragic. I want blizzards, snowdrifts, and 2 foot visibility. I want the snow to block the front door shut, and trap us inside to play board games and make hot chocolate. That's Christmas!

THIS is Christmas....

This is my parent's back porch. I miss this kind of snow sometimes.

You know it's funny.... People have no idea how to handle snow here. If half a dozen flurries fall from the sky, the schools close, and people don't go to work. People FREAK OUT. That is, unless they decide to drive somewhere... then they drive as if it's sunny with a high of 75. Tennessee drivers are brutal... they have no idea how to drive in bad weather (but that's another post).

Now I'm looking out my window, and I'm seeing some real snow. Oh boy, the Governor has probably declared a state of emergency.

Gotta go.

Hahahaha!!! That's what it is like here in MD. I used to live in Indiana where they get a lot of snow. But here in MD just half an inch of snow and there is everything shuts down.

Yea lol, try living in sweden then moving to Texas! I'm used to it like you man. Well, not totally, I'm used to the 2 foot deep snow, completely white trampoline, and studded tires. In texas, we get no snow, just cold winds and a high of 50f.

Wow, Jonathan your parent's porch looks like the front of my house in my blog Winter Wonderland.
I don't think I would like living in Tennesee, with green Christmas's. As much as I hate snow sometimes, I know I would miss it:)

Haha you what kind of winters we have here in Wisconsin it's:
Snowday when it's -60 outside and kids still go outside to play in the snow!
Snowday when the snow if up your hip and up to your chest in a snow drift.
Impossible to make it to your garage.
And best sledding ever!!!
That's the kind of winter I have :]

I totally understand! im in nolensville and fyi, the snow isn't great here as youve noted. but the ice is bad. but ok, so ive lived here all my life and my friend has too, and we've discovered the tennessee snow pattern. every 3 years a big snow comes. from our calculations, this is the year for the big snow. cross your fingers! too bad the ground isn't frozen...i was hoping to get outta snow!...i have a theory about the snow casts here...check out my blog and see...
btw, love the relient k reference...

We haven't had any snow yet and for some reason I want it to snow REALLY bad. Usually what we get is sleet, ice, and flurries. Once we had ice that was at least half an inch thick on our front doorstep so we had to go out the back door to get to the car. Haha. Yeahh. It should probably snow soon.

man i HATE green christmases! it's not Christmas without snow in my opinion. i would at least like to experience 1 Canadian snow before i die! it is really funny how the town kinda loses it when there's snow. having everyone panic is crazy. the snow days on the other hand, i could deal with that! hehe.

P.S. the Relient K quote, very clever!
